About Damien Darroch
I view art as a way to capture memorable sporting achievements in a snapshot that tells a whole story. My purpose is to document the players and their moments on canvas, as I believe a painting has a way of immortalising these moments in a way that photos and videos do not.
As an artist, I heavily focus on detail to achieve a more realistic result. To achieve this, I use many layers and invest a lot of time into each piece. My art is a unique centerpiece and a great way to remember your favourite players and some of the best moments in sport.
I’ve been developing my art skills for over 25 years, and I continually strive to improve my technique and the quality of my work. As a passionate AFL fan, I’ve followed the Richmond Tigers my entire life, and I’m particularly inspired by the champions of the game and their awe-inspiring moments.
Driven by this passion, I pour all my heart and soul into each artwork I create. – Damien

“Backing Jack” in progress

The material I use

Introducing “The Icing”
And it is done!! I’m very proud of this artwork called ‘The Icing’ that captures Dustin Martin’s last quarter goal in the 2020 grand final. From the flick of the hand as he broke the Patrick Dangerfield tackle, to the unique angle as the goal is kicked, every part of...
